Based on the findings of the study conducted in the Ministry’s food laboratories, the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) advises against ingesting fresh and frozen shrimp from India since some imported quantities are microbially contaminated.
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and MOPH are working together to ensure that all offered quantities of Indian shrimp are taken off the market.
The Ministry advises customers not to eat any fresh or frozen Indian shrimp they may have acquired during the last three days and to return them to the retailers.
The customer should go to the closest medical facility if they have ingested it and are experiencing signs of a gastrointestinal infection.
