Hot Dog Products Recalled in Three States Due to Lack of Federal Inspection

AW Farms is recalling approximately 6,900 pounds of hot dog products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. This recall, announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), affects products distributed to restaurant and hotel locations in Ohio and West Virginia.

Recall Details:

Products:

  • 10-lb. boxes containing two 5-lb. vacuum-packed packages of “FRENCH CITY FOODS 6” 12-1 HOTDOGS”
  • 10-lb. boxes containing two 5-lb. vacuum-packed packages of frozen “PORK, BEEF, DEXTROSE, SALT, SUGAR MAPLE GEO BROWN ALL MEAT HOTDOGS”
  • 10-lb. boxes containing two 5-lb. vacuum-packed packages of frozen “GEO BROWN ALL BEEF HOTDOGS”
  • Label Details: Each package includes a “PACKED ON” date since approximately May 30, 2024, and bears the establishment number “EST. 47635” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
  • Shelf-Life: 45 days

FSIS was alerted by a state public health partner about the lack of federal inspection, prompting an investigation. The investigation confirmed that the hot dog products were produced and distributed without proper federal oversight.
