Avole Inc., based in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, has issued a voluntary recall of its Bacalaitos Criollos Codfish Frying Mix due to undeclared fish (Pollock). This recall was prompted after an FDA inspection on September 5, 2024, discovered that the product labels did not include fish in the ingredients or the “Contains” statement.

Consumers with fish allergies or sensitivities risk serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

Distribution: The recalled products were distributed exclusively in Puerto Rico.

Affected Consumers: If you have purchased this product and have a fish allergy, you are urged not to consume it. Instead, return the product to the place of purchase for a refund. No reports of illness or injury have been linked to this recall. The company is actively working to relabel and recondition the product.
