Tesco Recalls Two 'Free From' Meal Kits Over Allergy Risk - Love Andover &  95.9FM Andover Radio

Tesco has issued an urgent food safety recall of its Tesco Free From Meal Kits after discovering that the products may contain undeclared soya, posing a potential health risk to anyone with a soya allergy.

Soya is not listed on the product labels, making these items particularly dangerous for consumers with either immediate or delayed soya allergies.

Products Affected

1. Tesco Free From Katsu Curry Meal Kit

Pack size: 250g

Best before: All dates up to and including 12 December 2025

2. Tesco Free From Sweet & Sour Meal Kit

Pack size: 250g

Best before: All dates up to and including 19 May 2025

These products have been available at Tesco stores across the UK.

Health Risk: What You Need to Know

There are two types of soya allergy:

  • Immediate Soya Allergy: Consuming soya can cause symptoms within minutes, such as swelling, hives, difficulty breathing, or, in rare cases, anaphylaxis.
  • Delayed Soya Allergy: Symptoms may take hours or even days to appear, often causing vomiting, stomach pain, and diarrhoea.
  • Anyone experiencing symptoms after eating these products should seek medical advice, particularly if they have known food allergies.

What You Should Do

  • Do not eat the affected meal kits if you have a soya allergy.
  • Return them to your nearest Tesco store for a full refundno receipt is required.
