SunSprout Enterprises Recalls Two Lots of Alfalfa Sprouts in the USA due to Salmonella Contamination.

SunSprout Enterprises is recalling two lots of Alfalfa Sprouts due to Salmonella contamination. Between late November and early December 2022, the company supplied 808 pounds of product to five food service and supermarket customers in Nebraska, Kansas, and Iowa. This voluntary recall affects no other SunSprout lot codes and products.

Salmonella Infection:

Salmonella can cause serious infections in young children, the elderly, and people with weak immune systems. The symptoms include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. In rare cases, Salmonella infection can cause the organism to enter the bloodstream and cause more serious diseases like endocarditis, and arthritis.
