Adults may experience facial paralysis or loss of facial expression, unresponsive or fixed pupils, trouble swallowing, drooping eyelids, blurred or double vision, speaking problems, including slurred speech, and a change in voice quality, including hoarseness. There is never a fever associated with botulism. People may pass away in circumstances of extreme illness.
