Salmonella Infection: Tahini Extra Sesame Seed Paste from Family’s Choice Distribution is being recalled in Canada

Salmonella infection has caused Family’s Choice Distribution to recall their brand of Tahini Extra Sesame Seed Paste. The impacted product should not be used, sold, served, or distributed by hotels, restaurants, or other organisations.  The recalled product was marketed in Ontario, Canada.

Salmonella contaminated food typically does not seem, smell, or taste rotten. Infants, children, senior citizens, and individuals with compromised immune systems are more susceptible to serious illness. Within 12 to 72 hours of consuming contaminated food, diarrhoea, cramping in the abdomen, and fever are possible symptoms of Salmonella infection.
