Raw SeaFoods, Inc., based in Fall River, MA, has issued an allergy alert and initiated a voluntary recall of its Farm Raised Lightly Seasoned Atlantic Salmon Burgers. The recall is due to the undeclared presence of sesame and milk allergens, posing a potential risk for individuals with allergies or sensitivities to these ingredients.

The impacted product, sold exclusively in the seafood department of Whole Foods Market stores nationwide, was available from August 25, 2023, through November 15, 2023. Consumers are advised to check for the product labeled with PLU code 56228 and specific sell-by dates ranging from September 11, 2023, to November 19, 2023. Only items matching this description are affected.

The issue came to light when a vendor reported visible sesame seeds on the product, triggering an immediate investigation by Raw SeaFoods, Inc. The company is currently determining the cause, and no illnesses associated with the product have been reported thus far.

Consumers with sesame or milk allergies are urged not to consume the recalled product. Whole Foods Market customers who purchased this item can receive a full refund by presenting a valid receipt at the store.
