Nestlé USA Recalls Frozen Meals Due to Wood Contamination

Nestlé USA has announced a voluntary recall of a limited quantity of Lean Cuisine® and STOUFFER’S® frozen meals due to the potential presence of wood-like material in certain products. This recall is being conducted out of an abundance of caution after receiving consumer reports, including one potential choking incident.

    • 4214595511 – SEPT 2025

4. STOUFFER’S® Party Size Chicken Lasagna (96oz)

  • Batch Codes and Best Before Dates:
    • 4262595915 – OCT 2025
    • 4351595915 – JAN 2026
    • 5051595915 – MAR 2026
    • 5052595915 – MAR 2026

These products were manufactured between August 2024 and March 2025 and distributed at major retailers across the U.S. between September 2024 and March 2025.

Reason for Recall

The recall has been issued due to the possible presence of wood-like material in the affected products. While the issue is believed to be isolated, Nestlé USA is actively investigating the source of the contamination.

Food Safety Risk

Consuming food contaminated with foreign materials such as wood can pose a choking hazard and cause injuries to the mouth, throat, or digestive system. While there has been one reported choking incident, no other health-related issues have been confirmed.

Consumer Advice

Consumers who have purchased any of the affected products should:

  • Not consume the product.
  • Check the batch code on the side of the product packaging before the best-before date.
  • Return the product to the retailer where it was purchased for a full refund or replacement.
