Enoki Mushroom Recalled Due to Listeria Contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for K-Fresh brand Enoki Mushroom due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

Affected Regions:
The recalled product has been distributed in the following provinces and territories:

  • British Columbia
  • Ontario
  • Quebec
  • Possibly other provinces and territories

Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can lead to severe illness, particularly in vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. In pregnant women, the infection can result in premature delivery, infection of the newborn, or stillbirth. In severe cases, the illness can be fatal.

  • If you believe you have consumed the recalled product and feel unwell, seek medical attention immediately.
  • Check your refrigerator or storage areas for the recalled product.
  • Refrain from consuming, serving, using, selling, or distributing the recalled Enoki Mushroom.
  • Dispose of the product safely by throwing it out or return it to the place of purchase.
