Listeria monocytogenes-contaminated Gorgonzola cheese of the Igor brand has been recalled in the Canada.

Gorgonzola cheese has been withdrawn from the market owing to probable Listeria contamination. The recalled product has been distributed in Ontario and Quebec.

Pregnant women, the elderly and others with compromised immune systems are particularly at danger.  People may die in severe cases of illness. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.

Consumer Advice:

• Contact your healthcare practitioner if you believe consuming a recalled product made you sick.
• See if you have any recalled goods.
• Avoid using, serving, selling, or distributing recalled products.
• Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased
