Consumers who possess these products are advised to discard them promptly. Medical attention is recommended if individuals exhibit signs or symptoms of a foodborne illness. It is important to note that while food contaminated with Listeria may not exhibit any obvious signs of spoilage, it can still lead to severe and even life-threatening infections.

Symptoms of Listeria infection encompass vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. It is worth mentioning that Listeria infections can mimic other illnesses, requiring specific laboratory tests for diagnosis. Individuals with weakened immune systems, such as pregnant women, the elderly, young children, and those undergoing cancer treatments, are particularly susceptible to the associated risks.

It is crucial to remain vigilant for symptoms in the weeks following consumption, as Listeria symptoms might take up to 70 days to manifest. Pregnant women should be especially cautious, as Listeria infections during pregnancy can lead to complications like premature delivery, newborn infection, or stillbirth.
