Kara Boondhi, Kerala Mixture, and Spicy Murukku Recalled in US

Grace Imports, LLC, based in Tucker, GA, has announced a voluntary recall of the above snack products due to undeclared wheat. The recall was initiated after the supplier notified the company that the Asafetida used in the product contained wheat, which was not listed on the label.

Products Recalled:

  • Kara Boondhi (250g), Batch No. 2Al488, UPC: 8 904123 537066
  • Kerala Mixture (300g), Batch No. 2Al564, UPC: 8 904123 500329
  • Spicy Murukku (250g), Batch No. 2Al504, UPC: 8 904123 537103

People with wheat allergies or severe sensitivities are at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products.

Distribution: The recalled products were distributed in retail stores across Georgia on August 20, 2024, and were packaged in plastic bags.

Affected Consumers: Consumers who have purchased these products are advised not to consume them. They should discard the products or contact Biju Joseph at Grace Imports (770-270-1010, Monday – Friday, 11 AM to 7 PM EST) for further information.

No illnesses have been reported to date. This recall is being conducted with the full knowledge of the FDA.
