Jelly Pork Products Recalled Due to Listeria Contamination Copy

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has expanded a food recall warning for Ham in Jelly (Jelly Pork) products sold by multiple retailers in Ontario. The recall, initially issued on October 16, 2024, now includes additional distribution and product information. The affected products may have been sold either sliced, chunked, or in smaller packages, some without labels. Consumers who are unsure whether they purchased the recalled product are advised to contact their retailer.

Affected Products:

The affected products listed in the table include

  1. Wagener Ham in Jelly sold by Glogowski Euro Food in Kitchener, all packages sold up to and including October 7, 2024.
  2. Ham in Jelly (Jelly Pork) sold by Nika Deli at the Welland Farmer’s Market, with all packages sold up to and including October 12, 2024.
  3. Additionally, Ham in Jelly (Jelly Pork) sold by Coppa’s King City in King City, Staropolskie Delikatesy in Hamilton, and Starsky in Mississauga, with all packages sold up to and including October 17, 2024, are also affected.
  4. Ham in Jelly from Starsky in Hamilton is affected as well, with all packages sold up to and including October 17, 2024, and Village Bake Shop in Whitby has also recalled Ham in Jelly sold up to and including October 17, 2024.

Health Risk:

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can lead to listeriosis, a potentially fatal infection in vulnerable populations such as the elderly, pregnant women, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include high fever, severe headache, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea, and, in severe cases, death.

What You Should Do:

  • Do not consume, sell, serve, or distribute the recalled products.
  • If you have purchased these products, dispose of them safely or return them to the place of purchase.
  • Contact your retailer if you are unsure whether your product is part of the recall.
  • If you believe you have consumed the affected product and are experiencing symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
