Authentik Fudge, based in Sainte-Julie, Quebec, Canada, has issued a recall for specific batches of its Chocolate Fudge with Nuts, branded as Montreal Fudge, due to potential mold contamination. The recall was initiated following a consumer complaint about mold found inside a purchased box, as well as the discovery of mold in some unpacked sealed products at the manufacturing facility.

Affected Product Details

The recalled Chocolate Fudge with Nuts was distributed on June 19 and June 20, 2024, and sold through the Marshalls chain and TJ Maxx stores in multiple states across the United States, including:

  • TJ Maxx Stores: Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
  • Marshalls Stores: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

The product is packaged in a Montreal Fudge gable box labeled as “Chocolate Fudge with Nuts,” with a net weight of 5.6 oz. The affected lots include:

  • Lot 0241500805: Expiration date 2025/MR/01
  • Lot 0241690105: Expiration date 2025/MR/17
  • Lot 0241690205: Expiration date 2025/MR/17

No other products are impacted by this recall.
