September 7, 2023 USA

Can You Freeze Cooked (or Raw) Pork? How Long Can You Freeze Pork? - Does It Go Bad?

AJC International, Inc., a prominent importer of food products based in Atlanta, Georgia, is voluntarily recalling approximately 17,428 pounds of frozen, raw pork products. The recall comes in response to a failure to present these products for import reinspection, as required by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The specific products subject to this recall are as follows:

  • Product Description: Frozen Pork Front Hock
  • Case Code: 18019
  • Certification Number: 251497
  • Best Before Dates: Between July 14-27, 2025

These products were shipped to distributors in Hawaii, American Samoa, and the country of Palau. They bear the Canadian establishment number “391” inside the Canadian mark of inspection.

The issue was uncovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities, which revealed that the necessary reinspection of these imported products had not occurred.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of adverse reactions related to the consumption of these products. Nevertheless, we urge consumers to exercise caution. If you have purchased these recalled products, please do not consume them. Similarly, restaurants and institutions are advised not to serve these items. Instead, dispose of the products or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

Recall Effectiveness Checks: FSIS conducts recall effectiveness checks regularly to ensure that companies promptly notify their customers about recalls and take steps to remove the recalled products from circulation.
