Foreign Matter Found in Popular Snack Prompts Urgent Recall

Happy Snacks Limited issued a nationwide recall of a specific batch of its Dr Bugs brand Fruit Candy Popcorn (150g) due to the possible presence of a metal screw in the product. The recall has been initiated as a precautionary safety measure, although no injuries have been reported so far.

Product Details

  1. The recalled product is Dr Bugs brand Fruit Candy Popcorn, sold in 150g plastic packaging, with a best before date of 17 June 2025.
  2. Consumers are advised to check the date marking located on the back of the packaging.
  3. The affected product has been sold in retail outlets and supermarkets across New Zealand. No other Dr Bugs brand products are included in this recall.

Consumer Advice

If you have purchased this product with the specified best before date, do not consume it. There is a risk of injury from the foreign object. Return the product to the retailer for a full refund.
