EGO Swiss roll was recalled in Singapore due to the presence of excess sorbic acid.
Sorbic acid levels in EGO Swiss Roll (Strawberry flavor) have been found to be higher than the upper limit permitted by Singapore Food Regulations. The SFA has directed the importer, Kee Wee Hup Kee Food Manufacture Pte Ltd, to recall the affected product.
Sorbic acid is a permitted food additive that is used to preserve food. Consumption of the impacted product is unlikely to have any negative effects on health due to low toxicity.
