Da Cheng Vegetarian Food Inc. of El Monte, California is recalling 45 cases of Vegan Drumsticks due to the possibility that they contain undeclared egg protein. The recalled Vegan Drumsticks were sold in restaurants, one distributor in Houston, Texas, and one retail outlet in Orange County, California. Consuming these items puts those who are allergic to egg protein at risk for severe or fatal allergic reactions. There was one occurrence of allergic response to egg protein.

The recall was issued after it was revealed that the egg protein-containing product was supplied in packaging that concealed the presence of egg protein. A further inquiry revealed that the manufacturer’s incompetence on the production assembly line was the root of the issue. When combining the components, their employee utilized the incorrect ingredient, which resulted in this problem. The worker is no longer employed by the manufacturer. The FDA and the firm have halted production of the product until the issue has been resolved.

Product Details:

The product is packaged in a 6.6-pound clear plastic bag that is imprinted with the Da Cheng emblem. Along with the components, the expiration date is listed on the label as 23/09/2023

Consumer Advice:
