ALDI Stores have issued a recall for the World Kitchen Energise High Protein Chicken Pesto Pasta (430g) due to the presence of an undeclared allergen, cashew. This product has been available for sale in ALDI stores across NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD, SA, and WA. The recall applies to all date codes labeled “Use By.”

Reason for the Recall

The recall was prompted by the discovery of cashews in the product, which were not listed as an ingredient on the packaging. This labeling error poses a serious health risk to individuals who are allergic or intolerant to cashews.

Health Hazard

Consuming this product may trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Symptoms can range from mild, such as itching or swelling, to severe, including difficulty breathing, vomiting, or anaphylaxis, which is a medical emergency. Consumers with a cashew allergy or intolerance should avoid this product entirely.

What to Do

Consumers should not consume the affected product if they have a cashew allergy or intolerance. The product can be returned to any ALDI store for a full refund. Anyone who has consumed the product and is experiencing symptoms should seek medical advice immediately.
