Baker’s Flour recalled due to Undeclared Allergen

Byford Flour Mills - Bakers' Range flours

Byford Flour Mill Pty Ltd, trading as Millers Foods, has issued a recall for several of their Bakers’ Range flour products due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (Soy). These products have been sold at various independent stores, including IGA, Spudshed, and Farmer Jacks in Western Australia (WA).

Affected Products:

  1. STRONG BAKERS FLOUR 1kg:
    • Best Before Dates: From 18/03/2025 up to and including 21/08/2025
  2. ARTISAN SOURDOUGH FLOUR 2kg:
    • Best Before Dates: From 16/03/2025 up to and including 26/07/2025
  3. BAKERS WHOLEMEAL FLOUR 1kg:
    • Best Before Dates: From 25/03/2025 up to and including 19/08/2025
  4. ORGANIC PLAIN FLOUR 1kg:
    • Best Before Dates: From 22/03/2025 up to and including 08/07/2025

Reason for Recall:

The recall has been initiated due to the presence of an undeclared allergen, Soy. This poses a risk to consumers with a Soy allergy or intolerance, as they may have an allergic reaction if the product is consumed.

Health Risk:

Consumers with a Soy allergy or intolerance may experience an allergic reaction if they consume the affected products. Symptoms can vary and may include hives, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing, or anaphylaxis in severe cases.

Actions for Consumers:

  • Do not consume the affected products if you have a Soy allergy or intolerance.
  • Return the product(s) to the place of purchase for a full refund.
  • If you have consumed the product and are concerned about your health, seek medical advice immediately.
