Ardo NV recalls Ardo Fruitberry mix due to the presence of Hepatitis A

A food item may be withdrawn or recalled if there is a fault with it that makes it unsafe to sell  To inform consumers and local authorities of issues with food, the FSA releases Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices. The Hepatitis A virus was discovered, leading to the recall of two quantities of Ardo Fruit berry mix. After eating at a restaurant, ten to fifteen persons in Hungary were taken to the hospital. Subsequent testing by a Hungarian laboratory revealed Hepatitis A in a 2.5-kg bag of the berry mixture. Everyone who was ill has now recovered. All retail establishments selling this item will have point-of-sale notices on display.  Hepatitis A is present in this product. Hepatitis A typically causes the following symptoms: fever, nausea, pains in the stomach, diarrhea, dark urine, and jaundice.

Consumer advice:

  • Do not consume this product if you purchased it. Instead, give it back to the shop where you purchased it to receive a complete refund. Ardo has also blocked all current stocks of this fruit berry mix.
  • Pay attention to the specific items being recalled and only throw away those.
  • Do not give the product to others, such as a food bank or a pet
  • Consumers should get in touch with their doctor if they have any food poisoning or allergic reaction symptoms.
