Sausage Recalled in England Due to E. coli Contamination

In response to the discovery of Shiga toxin-producing E. coli in a batch of Yayla Sucuk (sausage), Könecke Sp. Z.o.o has initiated a recall of the affected product in England, issuing a public health alert.

  • Best Before Dates: 14 January 2024, 26 January 2024, 23 February 2024, and 01 March 2024

The batch of Yayla Sucuk (sausage) in question has been found to contain Shiga toxin-producing E. coli. Consumption of products contaminated with this bacteria can lead to severe symptoms, including bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain, and in some cases, hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a serious condition that can result in kidney failure and be fatal. Könecke Sp. Z.o.o has taken swift action by recalling the affected product. Point of sale notices will be prominently displayed in stores where the product was sold, providing customers with information on the recall and guidance on what steps to take if they have purchased the product. Attached to this release is a photo of the product for reference.

Consumer Advice: Consumers who have purchased Yayla Sucuk (sausage) with the specified batch code and best before dates are strongly advised not to consume the product. Instead, they should return it to the store where it was purchased to receive a full refund.
