The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has recalled six caffeinated drinks, including one endorsed by Logan Paul, due to non-compliance with caffeine content and labeling regulations.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for six caffeinated beverages, including Prime energy drink, endorsed by social media personality and professional wrestler Logan Paul. The CFIA posted a recall notice due to non-compliance with caffeine content and labeling requirements.Prime energy drink, advertised as vegan and sugar-free, contains 200 milligrams of caffeine per can, surpassing Health Canada’s acceptable limit of 180 mg per serving. The recall also affects 3D Alphaland energy drink, 5-hour Energy, Celsius dietary supplement, GFuel energy drink, and Sting. These products must be removed from the market.

The recall encompasses all caffeine-containing flavors of the affected drinks lacking bilingual English and French labeling. High caffeine levels can have adverse effects on children, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, and caffeine-sensitive individuals. Excessive caffeine consumption combined with exercise can lead to negative health effects such as insomnia, irritability, headaches, and nervousness.

It is worth noting that Prime energy drink should not be confused with Prime Hydration, a separate product that does not contain caffeine. Health experts advise children under 12 to avoid caffeine entirely, while those older should consume no more than 100 mg. Health Canada recommends that adults limit their caffeine intake to 400 mg per day.
