New Zealand importers recalled their 4 food products containing tahini in New Zealand food market due to possible presence of Salmonella
The affected products include the brand’s Tahina (400g, 800g and 18kg); Halawa Plain (350g, 700g); Halawa Pistachio (350g, 700g); and Halawa Extra Pistachio (350g, 700g). All these products are imported to New Zealand from Jordhan and marketed to ethnic retailer shops through out New Zealand
New Zealand Food Authorities also recalled 35 hummus and tahini products were recalled in March 2023 over the same risk. so they are closely monitoring these products
