Pam brand Mixed Berries have been recalled in NZ due to the risk of Hepatitis A.

Foodstuffs Own Brands Ltd is recalling a batch of Pam brand Mixed Berries due to the risk of Hepatitis A with frozen berries. The berries were sourced from Serbia. The products were sold at Trents Wholesale and Raeward Fresh stores throughout the South Island, Pak’n Save, New World, and Four Square stores. This update affects products having a best-before date of August 14, 2024.

Consumer Advice:

  • Before consuming frozen berries, boil them or by using a thermometer, ensure cooking temperatures surpass 85°C for 1 minute. Berries that have been heated safely can be frozen for later use.
  • When cooking berries in the microwave, stir halfway through to ensure they are fully cooked. the main point is that the berries achieve boiling temperature.
  • Before eating or preparing food, wash your hands.
