The French Silk Pie is being recalled by Rocky Mountain Pies, LLC of Salt Lake City, Utah because it might contain undeclared almonds. People who are allergic to tree nuts may face the risk of having a fatal allergic response. To date, no illnesses have been reported.
The product was sold in retail stores in the states of Arizona, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, and Idaho.
Staff at a retail establishment discovered that cases marked “Turtle Cream Pies” actually contained Turtle Cream Pies, but they were labeled with “French Silk Pie” sleeves, resulting in the undeclared allergen. An investigation conducted later revealed that the issue was brought on by a brief malfunction in the company’s pre-operational changeover packaging procedure.
