Fresh lettuce products from Kalera are voluntarily recalled in the USA due to a potential health risk.

Kalera Public Limited Company is voluntarily recalling 633 cases of Krunch, Butter and Romaine whole head variety lettuce with lot codes 001293 and 001294. In Florida, distribution was restricted to a small number of retail and restaurant customers.  To the Company’s knowledge, no illnesses have occurred or been reported as of yet. The only items being recalled are those that are specifically mentioned in this announcement, made at the Orlando farm, and offered for sale within the state of Florida. The recall does not affect any other Kalera products.

Salmonella Infection:

Salmonella infections frequently cause a fever, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain in healthy people. In very rare cases, a salmonella infection can cause the organism to enter the bloodstream, where it can cause more serious conditions like endocarditis, arthritis, and vascular infections which are all characterised by inflammation of the heart and blood vessels.

Consumer Advice:
