Lipari Foods is voluntarily recalling some varieties of sesame stick mix and roasted/salted sunflower meat tubs due to undeclared cashew allergen.

Due to an undeclared cashew allergy, Lipari Foods has announced a voluntary recall of particular lots of sesame sticks mixed and roasted and salted sunflower meat tub items packed by sister firm JLM. If those who are allergic to cashews or have a significant sensitivity to them consume these items, they run the risk of having a catastrophic or even fatal allergic response.

Distribution of the goods took place to retail outlets in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

Up to this day, no diseases have been linked to these goods. Our sister company, JLM, alerted us to this after finding cashews (tree nuts) in the oil-roasted and salted sunflower seeds they purchased in bulk from Shah Trading Co. The Sesame Sticks Mix and Roasted/Salted Sunflower Meat Tub goods were packaged using the bulk item. Non-branded items from Lipari Foods are being recalled because they might contain an unlisted allergy. To make sure that all possibly compromised products have been removed from commerce, we are collaborating closely with the FDA.
