Voluntary recall of 37 different breads recalled by Piantedosi due to recall of raw material from Lyons Magnus.
The dinner rolls, sandwich rolls, and bun products are being voluntarily recalled by Piantedosi Baking Company, Inc. Lyons Magnus is recalling this raw material because it carries the risk of microbial contamination, including the development of Cronobacter sakazakii and/or Clostridium botulinum. Although there have been no illnesses linked to Piantedosi Baking Company, Inc. bread products recorded, and no infections have been discovered in Piantedosi Baking Company, Inc. goods so far, this voluntary recall is being carried out with a high degree of caution to assure consumer safety.
Lyons Magnus issued a major drink recall in the middle of August after learning that a number of drinks could be tainted with harmful bacteria. Other food items that contained Lyons components were affected by the recall. A large-scale Lyons recall was triggered by a component used in 37 distinct types of bread from the Piantedosi Baking Company.
The impacted lots of Golden Gloss glaze were utilized for a short production period between March 21, 2022, and April 25, 2022. The impacted Piantedosi Baking Company product UPC and lot codes are shown below.

Infection associated with cronobacter sakazakii and clostridium botulinum:
An emerging opportunistic pathogen known as Cronobacter sakazakii can be discovered in a variety of foods, including meats, water, vegetables, grains, bread, tea, herbs, spices, and powdered infant formula. It can cause serious invasive infections in newborns. Severe blood infections or swollen linings around the brain and spinal cord can both be brought on by the cronobacter bacteria.
The toxin that causes the rare but dangerous condition known as botulism affects the body’s nerves, resulting in breathing problems, muscle paralysis, and even death. The typical symptoms of botulism from food are nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. It also affects the stomach and intestines. Botulism in a wound results in the surrounding tissue swelling, low blood pressure, and circulatory collapse.

Avoid consuming any recalled Piantedosi bread products that may be in your freezer or pantry. The company advises customers to get rid of the recalled products.
