Morrisons urgently recalls mango fingers and advises consumers to “do not eat.”

August 24, 2022 United Kingdom

The most recent grocery store to recall a well-liked food item due to potential consumer safety concerns is MORRISONS. The public has been forewarned not to consume it. Due to salmonella concerns, the largest supermarket chain in the UK, Morrisons, has urgently issued a recall notice and a “do not consume” warning on fruit goods. Morrisons is taking the recall as a preventative measure because they are concerned that the product may be contaminated.

Two of its ready-to-eat mango products have been withdrawn from the market, according to the Food Standards Agency, because “they potentially contain salmonella.”
The wraps should be returned to the shop by customers who have already bought them. The 240g Morrisons Mango with a best before the date of August 23, 2022, and the 210g Morrisons Mango Fingers with a best before the date of August 22, according to the FSA alert, were recalled as a result of the worries.

As a result, point-of-sale notifications describing the reasons for the recall and what to do if the products have already been purchased will also be placed in all retail establishments that are selling the products. The retailer apologized and said anyone who had purchased them will receive refunds.

Salmonella is present in the items mentioned. Salmonella typically causes fever, diarrhea, and pains in the abdomen. Do not eat any of the aforementioned products if you have purchased them. Instead, return it to the Morrisons shop closest to you to receive a complete refund. Customers can anticipate receiving a complete refund on their transaction with no need for a receipt. Customers were reassured by Morrisons that the Salmonella scare is not affecting any other items.

To inform consumers and local authorities of issues involving food, the FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices. A “Food Alert for Action” may occasionally be issued. This gives local authorities information on the precise steps that should be performed on behalf of consumers. Even though food recalls are uncommon, shoppers must treat them seriously because they are put in place to protect customers’ health.
