In response to the detection of the Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus at two South Australian growing properties, Biosecurity New Zealand has announced a temporary suspension of all tomato imports from Australia. This suspension, effective immediately, will be reviewed in seven days. Deputy Director-General Stuart Anderson stated, “We met with our Australian counterparts this afternoon to get an update on their response to the virus detection.
